  • $15,000 for 1 year to fund our CTC Social Norms Campaign
  • $3,750 in-kind match was provided by our community to obtain this grant

Drug Free Community Support Program (2005 to 2011)

  • $600,000 over 6 years to fund our CTC coalition’s drug-free community activities ($100,000 per year)
  • $750,000 in-kind match was provided by our community to obtain this grant ($100,000 in-kind match in 2005-06 + 2006-07; a $125,000 in-kind match in 2007-08 + 2008-09; and a $150,000 in-kind match in 2009-10 + 2010-11)

PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency: School Resource Officer Grant (2007 to 2010)

  • $102,509 over 3 years to fund a School Resource Officer for the Mifflin County School District ($49,750 in 2007, $34,692 in 2008, and $18,067 in 2009)
  • $105,475 in-kind match was provided by Mifflin County Regional Police and the Mifflin County School District to obtain this grant ($16,583 in 2007, $34,693 in 2008, and $54,199 in 2009)

Parents Supporting Parents Support Group (2007 to 2008)

  • $3,200 was donated by our community to fund this parent support group

PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency: Research-based Violence and Delinquency Prevention Programs (2007 to 2011)

  • $336,261 over 4 years to fund the Second Step After-School Program (implemented by the TIU #11 with the Mifflin County School District)
  • $96,806 in-kind match was provided by our community to obtain this grant

  • $20,000 for 1 year to fund CTC’s prevention activities
  • $2,222 cash match was provided by Mifflin County Children & Youth Services to obtain this grant

  • $75,000 for 1 year to fund CTC community coalition prevention activities

  • $200,000 over 4 years to fund the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Juniata Valley YMCA (BBBS) Middle-School Site-Based Mentoring program, the Incredible Years (implemented by United Way of Mifflin-Juniata Success by 6), and the Parenting Wisely program (implemented by TIU #11 Family Literacy, Clear Concepts Counseling, and Project YES)
  • $57,590 in-match was provided by BBBS to obtain this grant

  • $150,000 to fund a Parent Support Group (facilitated by Clear Concepts), expand the Parent-Child Home Program (implemented by the TIU #11), and to write a monthly Parenting Newsletter

PA Dept of Education: Youth Mentoring Grant (2004 to 2007)

  • $475,000 over 3 years to fund a youth mentoring program (implemented by the TIU 11’s Project YES and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Juniata Valley YMCA)

Children’s Trust Fund (PA Dept of Welfare):

  • $480,000 over four years awarded to the TIU #11 to fund the Parent Child Home Program, Even Start, Head Start, and programs in the Mifflin County Library and Mifflin County School District

PA Dept of Welfare Challenge Grant:

  • $372,000 over 2 years to Central PA Work Investment Board (implemented by Project YES) Youth Advisory Council to fund TIU #11 Project YES programs

Department of Health (Bureau of Dug and Alcohol Programs, State of PA): Community Prevention Collaborative - State Incentive Grant (2003 to 2006)

  • $401,042 over 3 years to fund: Guiding Good Choices, Active Parenting, Parents Who Care, and Project YES programs (all coordinated by the TIU #11); the Student Assistance Program (implemented by Clear Concepts Counseling in the Mifflin County School District), and the Life Skills program (implemented by Mifflin County School District)

PA Department of Health (Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs): SBRIT - Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral, and Treatment

  • $1,637,457 over 3 years to fund this screening program (implemented by Tri-County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission)

Pennsylvania Tobacco Settlement

  • $647,407 over 5 years to fund tobacco prevention programs (implemented by Tri-County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission)

PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency: Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (2002 to 2006)

  • $297,000 over 4 years to fund this prevention program (implemented by the Mifflin County Children & Youth Services, Mifflin County Probation Department, and several community agencies)

PA Dept of Public Welfare’s Office of Children, Youth and Families (2002 to 2005):

  • $120,123 over 3 years to fund the Child Care Resource Development program; in 2005, this program transitioned to the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata under the new name “Success by 6”

Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention: Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMP) (2002 to 2005):

  • $218,000 over 3 years to fund this youth mentoring program (implemented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Juniata Valley YMCA)

Office of Juvenile Justice Programs: Drug Free Communities Support Program (2001 to 2005)

  • $369,606 over 4 years to the Heroin Task Group / CTC to fund the ‘People Using Leadership Skills Effectively’ [PULSE] program (implemented by Clear Concepts Counseling and the Mifflin County School District),  and a School Resource Officer in the Mifflin County School District
